Deborah & Michelle
In many ways, forming Senior Relocation Partners, was a natural step for Deborah Weinberger and Michelle Dittelman. Close friends and neighbors, both had professional and personal experiences that inspired them to form this special business. After 25 years of customer service experience as well as many years as a professional closet and wardrobe organizer, Deborah quickly realized that her skills could serve a greater purpose by catering to the senior community, an often-overlooked population. “I left corporate America to invest my time, energy and skills advocating for seniors at a time in their lives they may feel most vulnerable,” she said. “Navigating this process is overwhelming for anyone. To help seniors who are intimidated by the mere thought of a move, knowing they are in honest good hands, is nothing less than a privilege.”
Although Michelle’s professional background in marketing, retail sales management and customer relations provided her with invaluable skills for running SRP, nothing inspired her more than her personal experience as the primary caretaker of her 98-year-old aunt, lovingly referred to as “GG.” In 2015, when it became clear that GG could no longer live on her own in her New York City apartment, Michelle had a crash-course in all things downsizing, floor planning, packing and storage. GG would go on to move another 3 times over the course of the next 4 years and with each move, her needs evolved as did the solution that Michelle had to put in place. This powerful first-hand experience transformed Michelle into an instant senior move guru and inspired her to put her new-found knowledge and personal passion to use through the formation of SRP.
“We are all closer to this stage of life than we realize, whether dealing with our parents, siblings, relatives or our own need to downsize or relocate. Giving our clients and their families the respect and honor they deserve through this life-changing event, is the most rewarding way for us to spend our time and effort.”
